Sustainable Tourism Campsite

Engaged by nature

A campsite in the Landes committed to preserving the environment

Discover our nature camping approach committed to sustainable tourism

Choosing a holiday at Camping La Comtesse in Bélus means choosing to take a step towards nature.

Because the park is a green setting nestled in the heart of a poplar forest, and the pond is home to a variety of flora and fauna, we want to preserve this fragile balance. We try to improve each year to move towards a more responsible and environmentally friendly way of operating.

Today we are proud to be new members of the Sustainable Tourism Charter and wish to share our commitments with you.

Our sustainable tourism commitments

Buy eco-responsible and local

For our snack bar: We prefer to employ local businesses, which is why the bread comes from the baker in Bélus, the drinks come from a distributor in Saint-Geours-de-Maremne, the honey for our burgers comes from Api-Melli in Saint Lon Les Mines, the flours and kiwi juice also from Saint Lon Les Mines, the dairy products for our cakes come from a farm in Orthevielle …

For our rentals: We offer Eco-labeled cleaning product kits to Camping La Comtesse customers. Our housekeepers clean the house with environmentally friendly products.

Upon receipt: We recycle our printer cartridges and the paper purchased is PEFC labeled. We have set up, with the help of the Orthe et Arrigans Tourist Office, a touch screen to discover all the activities in the South Landes region and avoid overprinting on paper.

Save water

No dangerous product is returned to the grounds of the campsite.
Aerators are installed on the sanitary fittings and mobile homes on the campsite.
In our aquatic area, swim shorts are not allowed.

Reduce plastic

For our snack bar: We prefer glass bottles and our grandmothers’ plates and cutlery.

Reduce our waste production

At the La Comtesse campsite in Bélus, we are committed to sorting our waste to reduce household waste. 7 sorting bins are available to customers: metal, cardboard, paper, glass, plastic, batteries and green waste. In each mobile home, a bin for easier sorting is available to customers.

Educate young and old

Nature kids club: Protecting our beautiful Landes countryside and our green campsite, we keep in mind that our children are the primary ambassadors for the protection of nature and the environment. This is why we have concocted “eco-fun” activities for them: botanical workshop, plant creations, recycled creations …

Local producers’ market: n order to educate children and adults alike, we bring in local actors to help people discover the riches of the Landes region (pastries, foie gras, etc.).

Bike rides: We make every effort to educate our customers about the preservation of nature by explaining to them the ecological approaches of camping la comtesse. We direct our customers towards the rental of bicycles to discover the beauty of the South of the Landes and the local farm producers.
