Committed to Sustainable Tourism: Our Approach in the Heart of Nature

2 December 2025

We are delighted to welcome you to Camping La Comtesse, a place of relaxation and communion with nature.

Since 2021, we, Angélique and Axel, have been committed to creating a setting conducive to sharing moments with your loved ones, while preserving the nature that surrounds us. As passionate about the environment and respectful of people, we include each of our actions in an approach based on the three pillars of sustainable development: ecology, social responsibility and economic viability.

As soon as we took over the campsite, we implemented a strategy of “step-by-step progress”, aimed at achieving our environmental objectives over the long term. This translates into concrete actions such as reducing our energy footprint, careful water management, waste minimization, and support for local producers. These commitments are framed by charters, notably that of Sustainable Tourism, which guide our day-to-day decisions.

Our environmental commitments:

Maeva Respire group membership

  • We are part of the Maeva Respire group, a network of eco-committed campsites. This enables us to benefit from advice and best practices to continually improve our environmental impact.
  • Maeva Respire is helping us to evolve our approach towards ever more sustainable management of our campsite.

Sustainable Tourism Charter

  • We are certified “Tourisme Durable” by the communauté de communes de la Vallée du Kiwi. This certification commits us to respecting an eco-responsible grid that frames our actions in favor of the environment.

Water savings

Preserving this precious resource is at the heart of our approach. To this end, we have installed water-saving devices on all our taps and regularly read our meters to detect any leaks. We also encourage our guests to inform us of any malfunctions so that we can take prompt action.

Waste sorting

  • A central collection point is available just outside the campsite to facilitate waste sorting.
  • We have also installed a container for bio-waste, helping to reduce non-recycled waste.

Promoting local and organic products

At the reception grocery store, you’ll find products from local producers located less than 30 km away. What’s more, our restaurant menu features vegetarian dishes and local produce to highlight the richness of our terroir.

And much, much more!

  • We maintain our green spaces without pesticides or watering, letting nature take its course.
  • Every week in August, we host a local farmers’ market to promote organic and artisanal products.
  • We offer nature-based activities and showcase our beautiful region.
  • We limit paper printouts by favoring digital media and inform our visitors via a panel dedicated to the flora and fauna present at the campsite.

By staying with us, you are actively contributing to our sustainable approach. Thank you for your support and commitment to preserving our beautiful planet during your stay! Click herefor more booking information.
